Hello, my name is Karen and I am your Cincinnati Insider.

Luxury is not about wealth or status. In my view it is all about discovering the beauty around us on a daily basis. One of the main components of living well and that beauty is the joy of experiencing a great meal or a new wine not to mention the importance of environment or mood in which you are surrounded at the time that also adds an element of luxury. I personally am perpetually drawn to plants, flowers, produce, herbs and the role they play in helping to create that moment of luxury and pleasure.

I have been involved in and worked in restaurants and fine dining at almost every capacity. I also have been a “producer” of organic culinary herbs for cooks/chefs and have operated an urban gardening business. I am a nurturer by nature and I feel that the entire act of preparing and serving for others in such a basic way is quite simply a relationship that is all about giving and receiving.

What I am most interested in is gathering and sharing information with other restaurant insiders about what’s available locally for great dishes and notable dining. I certainly consider myself a “foodie” and as such my audience is more than likely going to be the frequent diners, whom like myself consider food and all that goes with it to be simply put and art form of the best kind. Let’s delve into cutting edge topics like infusions in dishes and drinks. While at the same time never forget the great basics and comforts that never get old or tired, when done well. Remember – Gravy is an art, along with so much more!
