First Annual Gala Held at The Sanctuary

he first annual "Gourmet and Grapes" event held March 13-15 2009 was a huge success! Attendees palates were dazzled by renowned local and national chefs creations as well as distinguished wines from around the world.

The weekend began with a Champagne and Wine reception held in the beautiful Sanctuary Hotel lobby. The reception was concluded in old world flair by a bag piper that led the group through the dazzling hotel and into The Ocean Room for dinner. Chef Charlie Trotter from Charlie Trotter's in Chicago produced an astounding six course tasting dinner that left the guests speechless. Extraordinary wines from the Louis Latour portfolio were paired with each course making this dinner one to remember. What a way to kick off such an event.

The following day was made for wine with educational sessions and highlighted exemplary producers such as Dan Duckhorn, Antinori, Moet Hennesy and Louis Latour.

The weekend ended on Sunday with a fantastic Sunday brunch in Jasmine Porch. There couldn't have been a better ending to such a fabulous weekend.

The Medical University of South Carolina Hollings Cancer Center. Over $100,000 was raised for the cause!

This first time and annual weekend event has just managed to get themselves onto our cant miss event list for next year as the remarkable facility, the detailed organization, the strength of the program certainly exceeded expectations. We look forward to letting you know about next years event as soon as dates are set!
